Penne with Vodka Sauce

Servings: 6


  • 2 lbs 15-20 count shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 oz clarified butter
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 8 oz Savvy Vodka
  • 4 oz heavy cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb penne pasta, cooked, drained and kept warm


  1. Heat marinara sauce. Add vodka and let reduce by 25 percent (app. 10-15 minutes). Add the cream and simmer 2 minutes to blend.
  2. Preheat a large skillet. Add clarified butter and saute shrimp app. 2 minutes per side or until cooked through. Do not overcook.
  3. To serve, divide the pasta among the plates. Cover with sauce and lay the sauteed shrimp on top. Cover with Parmesan and serve immediately.
